How to remove yourself from LexisNexis
LexisNexis is a marketing data broker: it builds profiles about people and sells them to advertisers and other companies. Here's how to opt out yourself.

Step by step
- 1
Open their opt-out page: https://optout.lexisnexis.com/
- 2
Search for yourself by name and state, then pick the listing that's really you. There may be more than one.
- 3
Be ready to verify who you are. This site can ask for ID before it acts.
- 4
Give an email address you can check. Most sites send a confirmation link, and nothing is removed until you click it.
- 5
Wait for the removal. It's often a few days, sometimes weeks.
- 6
Search again later. Listings are often rebuilt from public records and come back.
One site is never the whole story
Brokers buy from and copy each other, so the same listing usually shows up on several sites, and removed ones often come back months later. Check the other sites we cover too.
